Highlights of July 2008 issue

National integration was the theme of an article written by Meenal S. Jain, IX standard student of Mount Carmel English School, and a stage presentation at the annual day function of Sri Jnanakshi Vidyaniketan.
Minal Jain says national integration means the creation of thinking that we belong to one nation, irrespective of our religion, province etc.
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the great Indian Prime Minister, said that we can find oneness in certain qualities, whether we belong to the northern part or the southern part of India.
India is a country where nationalism and national unity is very much needed.
Stability and integrity is the need of the hour.
There are differences based on province, religion, language, and the feeling of separatism between North and South.
There is the problem of language also.
People in South India feel, perhaps rightly, that Hindi is being imposed on them directly or indirectly.
There is the feeling among states that provincial autonomy is being infringed upon by the central government.
Such hurdles have to be overcome so that Indians may look upon India as one state.
National integration is a must for India.
We must get united in order to make India a “united country” and a “developed country.”
