History of Reachout

The idea of providing a printed periodical to showcase the talent of neighbourhood children was conceived more than five years ago. School heads, who were approached, wholeheartedly welcomed it.
They felt the need for a medium to present the creative ability of their students and the progress of the institutions.
So, the first issue came out in January 2003, with the participation of eight schools. About 5,000 copies of Reachout were printed. They were distributed by the schools to every one of their students.
Some more went to public places such as banks and post offices and to important persons.More schools joined and the number touched a dozen within a year.
Today (in May 2008), 20 schools and pre-schools participate. The print order has gone up to 10,000.
